Ferris State University offers a wide variety of scholarships. 8967 scholarships valued at over $16.1 million dollars were awarded to students for the 2009-2010 academic year.
Effective for the 2010-2011 academic year, Ferris State University offers several scholarship opportunities to first - time attending freshmen based on their high school GPA (Grade Point Average) or their SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) scores and TOEFL - IELTS scores. Only international students at the Big Rapids campus are eligible for the Honors Residential Life Scholarships.

Only international students at the Big Rapids and Kendall campuses are eligible for the above listed scholarships. To be eligible, and to remain eligible, international students must be enrolled for a minimum of 12 Ferris State University credit hours.
International students who fail to maintain full-time Ferris State University enrollment, or fail to maintain the required minimum renewal GPA, will lose their scholarship. The scholarship will not be reinstated in future semesters.
International students may only receive one WNF scholarship unless the student is enrolled in the Honors Program. International students enrolled in the Honors Program may receive Honors Residential Life in addition to the highest valued International WNF Scholarship they qualify for.
The SAT score listed represents the composite test score.

The academic year value of the International Transfer Scholarship is the value of the difference between International tuition charges and Resident tuition charges. Students receiving this scholarship will pay the same tuition charges as Michigan Residents up to 15 credit hours. Students must have a minimum cumulative transfer grade point average of 3.3 and a minimum of 24 accepted transfer credit hours. The transfer grade point average is calculated using all transferred grades even if they are from multiple colleges or universities.
The scholarship is automatically renewed for a second year if the student maintains a 3.25 or higher cumulative Ferris GPA. Students who wish to be considered for a third year of this scholarship may submit an emailed request to scholarships@ferris.edu.
Students must be enrolled full - time in an undergraduate, degree - granting program on the main Big Rapids campus only. Students meeting the International Transfer Scholarship requirements will receive automatic consideration upon admission to Ferris.
All international students in good academic standing are eligible to apply. Students must have completed at least one full semester full - time at Ferris, and write a 200 word paragraph explaining the students financial need and reasons to be considered for the scholarship.
The award amount varies per year and is non - renewable.
The application deadline is May 1st.
For students living or attending high school or transferring to Ferris from institutions in: California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Ontario, Canada.
Amount: Approximately $5,000/year (students pay Michigan resident tuition).
